Write For Dog Food Insights
Reach a high-intent audience of dog owners actively searching for feeding decisions — not generic pet content. We publish expert-level, decision-first content that drives real value for readers and contributors alike.
We only publish decision-first content.
We’re not a generic pet blog. Every piece published on Dog Food Insights is designed to help a dog owner make a specific, informed decision — not just browse and leave.
We only accept content aligned with our decision-first content approach. That means your article must help readers do one of three things:
- Choose the right dog food for their specific dog
- Compare products or brands side by side with clear reasoning
- Solve a specific feeding or health-related problem
If your article is primarily a brand overview, a general “dog food tips” roundup, or written without a clear reader intent in mind — it won’t be a fit. We’re happy to give feedback before you write.
See How We Evaluate ContentYour Article Should Help Readers
- Understand what’s actually in a dog food formula
- Decide between two or more specific products
- Match a food to a breed, size, age, or health condition
- Identify ingredients that may cause issues for their dog
- Understand feeding amounts, transition timelines, or cost-per-day
- Navigate a recall, formula change, or sourcing concern
Six content categories we actively publish.
Pitch within one of these categories and you’re starting in the right place.
Breed-Specific Food Guides
Best dog food for specific breeds (Labrador, Poodle, German Shepherd, etc.) with nutritional reasoning — not just product lists.
Brand vs. Brand Comparisons
Structured head-to-head comparisons with ingredient analysis, cost-per-day breakdown, and a clear recommendation.
Ingredient Breakdowns
Good vs. harmful ingredients explained clearly — named proteins, fillers, preservatives, and what they mean for your dog.
Feeding Guides by Life Stage
Age, weight, activity level, and condition-based feeding guides with practical amounts and transition advice.
Health-Focused Diets
Sensitive stomach, skin issues, weight control, joint health — food-focused guidance (not medical treatment advice).
Honest Product Reviews
Real, experience-based reviews with transparent pros, cons, and clear suitability — no padding, no brand flattery.

SEO requirements and linking policy.
We maintain SEO standards across all content. Submissions that don’t meet these requirements will be returned for revision before publication.
SEO Requirements
Your article must target a clear keyword or search intent — ideally a long-tail query that a dog owner would realistically search.
- Use proper heading hierarchy (H1 handled by us, H2/H3 by you)
- Maintain natural keyword placement — no stuffing
- Optimize for readability and user experience above all
- Include a meta description suggestion with your submission
- Internal linking suggestions to relevant DFI content welcome
Linking Policy
We allow 1–2 relevant do-follow links to your website within the article body. These must be contextually placed and editorially justified.
- Links must be contextually relevant to the surrounding content
- Non-spammy — no link farms, PBNs, or low-quality domains
- Useful to the reader — not just inserted for SEO benefit
- We reserve the right to edit or remove links as needed
- Affiliate links within guest content are not permitted
